«if somebody dresses like nice American gentleman without any robes, I have no objection; but every one of my disciples must have the flag & marks of tilak on forehead. This is essential.»

«so if we do not keep long hair & dress ourselves nicely with tilaka, flag & beads on the neck, apart from our devotional service, then certainly we shall be distinct from the Hippies.»
671017 - Letter to Pradyumna written from Calcutta
«To date, all the devotees of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, following in His footsteps, accept the sannyāsa order and keep the sacred thread and tuft of unshaved hair. The ekadaṇḍi-sannyāsīs of the Māyāvādī school give up the sacred thread and do not keep any tuft of hair. Therefore they are unable to understand the purport of tridaṇḍa-sannyāsa, and as such they are not inclined to dedicate their lives to the service of Mukunda.»
Caitanya-caritamrta Madhya 3.6,
«still the tridaṇḍī sannyāsīs are in existence, keeping the sacred thread and śikhā intact, distinct from the Māyāvādī ekadaṇḍī sannyāsīs, who give up the sacred thread and śikhā. They have no inclination to render service unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead.»

«The seven great sages [Marīci, Vasiṣṭha, Atri and so on] reside on planets beneath Dhruvaloka. Well aware of the influence of the water of the Ganges, to this day they keep Ganges water on the tufts of hair on their heads. They have concluded that this is the ultimate wealth, the perfection of all austerities, and the best means of prosecuting transcendental life.»

«Prabhupāda: It is just like your cross, amongst Christian. It is temple of Viṣṇu. Not only here, we have got twelve place: here, here, here, here, here. Twelve place. The idea is being protected by Viṣṇu from all sides.»
740605 - Conversation A - Geneva
«In the Padma Purāṇa there is a statement describing how a Vaiṣṇava should decorate his body with tilaka and beads: "Persons who put tulasī beads on the neck, who mark twelve places of their bodies as Viṣṇu temples with Viṣṇu's symbolic representations (the four items held in the four hands of Lord Viṣṇu—conch, mace, disc and lotus), and who have viṣṇu-tilaka on their foreheads, are to be understood as the devotees of Lord Viṣṇu in this world. Their presence makes the world purified, and anywhere they remain, they make that place as good as Vaikuṇṭha."»
Nectar of Devotion, NOD 9 (цитата Padma Purāṇa)Шрила Прабхупада / первоисточник
«A similar statement is in the Skanda Purāṇa, which says, "Persons who are decorated with tilaka or gopī-candana (a kind of clay resembling fuller's earth which is produced in certain quarters of Vṛndāvana), and who mark their bodies all over with the holy names of the Lord, and on whose necks and breasts there are tulasī beads, are never approached by the Yamadūtas."»
Nectar of Devotion, NOD 9 (цитата Skanda Purāṇa)Шрила Прабхупада / первоисточник
«The purport of this verse is that for any person who simply follows these rules and regulations of decorating the body with the marks of tilaka of gopī-candana or sandalwood pulp, and who puts on the garlands which were offered to Kṛṣṇa, there is no question of being conquered by the spell of material energy. At the time of death, there is no question of such a person's being called by the constables of Yamarāja.»

«After cleansing oneself, purifying the body by prāṇāyāma, bhūta-śuddhi and other processes, and marking the body with sacred tilaka for protection, one should sit in front of the Deity and worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead.»

«and who mark their bodies all over with the holy names of the Lord, and on whose necks and breasts there are tulasī beads, are never approached by the Yamadūtas.»

«"Why do you put these neck beads?" It is guarantee that we shall not be shot down. Just like dog having a belt (collar), it is not shot down by anyone. It is known that he has a master.

«This confident, firm faith, favorable to the discharge of devotional service, is called śraddhā.»
Caitanya-caritamrta, Madhya 22.62, перевод (A.C.
«In the beginning there must be faith. Then one becomes interested in associating with pure devotees. Thereafter one is initiated by the spiritual master and executes the regulative principles under his orders. Thus one is freed from all unwanted habits and becomes firmly fixed in devotional service. Thereafter, one develops taste and attachment.»
«If one has full faith in Kṛṣṇa and confidence in Him, one becomes eligible to discharge devotional service confidentially. According to one's faith, one is a topmost, intermediate or inferior devotee.»
«One whose faith is soft and pliable is called a neophyte, but by gradually following the process, he will rise to the platform of a first-class devotee.»
«The root cause of devotional service to Lord Kṛṣṇa is association with advanced devotees. Even when one's dormant love for Kṛṣṇa awakens, association with devotees is still most essential.»
«Śraddhā, faith in Kṛṣṇa, is the beginning of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Faith means strong faith.»
The Nectar of Instruction
«When one becomes completely faithful in regard to this instruction, one's strong faith becomes the basis for advancing in spiritual life.»
The Nectar of Instruction,
«In whatever condition one may be, if he is fortunate enough to associate with pure devotees, then very quickly he is elevated to the second-class or first-class platform.»
The Nectar of Devotion
«Faith is created by association with devotees.»
«If one is convinced of this philosophy of life, that is faith. Now the development of that faith is the process of Kṛṣṇa consciousness.»
«This faith is attained by the discharge of devotional service, and by chanting "Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare," which cleanses one's heart of all material dirt.»
«by taking shelter of the proper method of worship in the association of sādhus , gradually destroys his own anarthas and advances progressively to niṣṭhā, ruci , āsakti , and even bhāva .»
Śrī Caitanya Śikṣāmṛta, First Shower Second Stream (Bhaktivinoda Thakura, verified-by-owner)ачарьи линии (Бхактивинода Тхакур)
«From association with sādhus comes hearing and chanting, and through the practice of devotional service all unwanted habits and impurities are removed.»
Śrī Caitanya Śikṣāmṛta, First Shower Second Stream (Bhaktivinoda Thakura)ачарьи линии (Бхактивинода Тхакур)
«śraddhā is of two kinds, namely tender śraddhā ( komala – śraddhā ) and firm śraddhā ( dṛḍha-śraddhā ). The bhakti that arises from firm śraddhā is exceedingly powerful and by its very nature takes the form of bhāva .»
Śrī Caitanya Śikṣāmṛta, First Shower Second Stream (Bhaktivinoda Thakura)ачарьи линии (Бхактивинода Тхакур)
